COBBAN, Audrey Jean (nee Gray) - On September 17, 2011 at Beattie Haven Retirement Community, Wardsville; Audrey Jean Cobban (nee Gray) in her 93rd year. Widow of Delmar Cobban (2003). Loving mother of Janet Cobban and her husband Tim Cope of Harrow. Dear sister of Ruth Graham and Philip Charman of London; the late Donald Gray (2005) and wife Mary; the late Edward Gray (2008) and wife Fay, all of Alvinston. A proud aunt and great aunt. Audrey was born at the family farm on the 3rd Concession of Brooke Township, Lambton County; the first child of Charles & Marjorie (Lovell) Gray. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario (attending her 70th anniversary homecoming in 2010), and the University of Toronto. She worked as a librarian in several Ontario communities and in Kent, England with a special interest in rural library service and bookmobiles. After their marriage in 1956, she assisted Delmar with the administration of the Caradoc Delaware Mutual Fire Insurance Company and the Caradoc Township School Area. Audrey was an active member of the South Caradoc United Church and Community, an accurate genealogist and co-author of a history of Caradoc Township. Audrey retired to Parkview Manor, Mt. Brydges and then to Beattie Haven where she received outstanding care. Friends may call at the ELLIOTT-MADILL FUNERAL HOME, Mt Brydges on Tuesday September 20th from 5pm to 7pm.
